Amber Drake, Certified Master Virtual Assistant and founder of Essential Admin, worked in the administrative field for 15 years before becoming a Virtual Assistant, 11 of which were spent at the Silicon Valley's Corporate Headquarters of Seagate Technology, the world's largest manufacturer of disc drives, magnetic discs and read-write heads.
Seagate proved to be the ideal environment for developing administrative and multi-tasking skills where she progressed to the position of Assistant to the Vice President of VLSI Engineering. It was during this time of supporting the Vice President, Executive Director and numerous Sr. Directors, Managers and Design Engineers simultaneously, her love for providing an array of technical administrative assistance proved energizing and rewarding.
In 2001, Amber discovered the innovative world of virtual assistance and in 2002 launched Essential Admin.
Since 2003, Amber has been specializing in supporting Real Estate Professionals, primarily with listing and marketing coordination. In November of 2003, Amber had the unique opportunity of being part of Michael Russer's Special NAR Session at the 2003 REALTORS Conference and Expo at the San Francisco Moscone Center, in an effort to bring full awareness of the tremendous benefits of using virtual outsourcing to the real estate industry.
In 2005, she and her family took the company on the road, traveling the country in their 37' 5th wheel RV with the goal of relocating from Northern California to a new (unknown) home with a better "work-play-live" quality of life. Through the benefits of mobile, wireless and satellite internet technology, Essential Admin grew and continued supporting clients without interruption through their many adventures. Also in 2005, Amber achieved the Master Virtual Assistant designation, the designation placing a Virtual Assistant at the very top of the Virtual Assistant Industry.
In 2006, paradise was found in the Coeur d'Alene area of Northern Idaho, and new roots for both the family and company were established.
In 2010, Amber hired the company's first employee.
In 2011, the company was moved from the home office to a commercial office suite and was incorporated as part of Drake Essentials, Inc.

By holding the designation of MVA, other VAs know they can trust the opinion of these individuals because they have been through the growing process. They have built a Virtual Assistant practice and achieved success in their chosen field.
The standards are much higher for becoming an MVA than a PVA. Not everyone can achieve the designation of MVA. You must have a great deal of verifiable experience to obtain this designation.
